Bay Chapter Lunch Program – The Evolution and Role of the Builder’s Design Manager on Design-Build Projects
April 12, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm PDT
What is a Design Manager? What is their role? Do owners see value in having a Design Manager on the Builder’s Team? What qualifications should the Design Manager bring to the team? Design-Build is a relatively new delivery method and as it continually evolving, the industry incorporates lessons learned gained on previous projects. From projects where the owner provides detailed criteria documents to progressive and/or collaborative design-build schemes, the design component of design-build has been evolving. We have assembled a panel of public and private owners to share their experiences and perspectives on how they have seen the design manager role evolve and their thoughts on the role the Builder’s Design Manager should play on the various design-build schemes. This interactive conversation with people on the front lines in our region will provide the audience with insights, lessons learned and strategies to support a culture of creativity and build a structure and organization for successful design.
