SW Conference Webinar Series: Lump Sum Design-Build vs. Progressive Design-Build

This approximately $2B Alternative Delivery Design- Build Project will consist of the design, construction and maintenance of non-tolled 15-mile long bridges and frontage roads between I-410 South to FM 3009. TxDOT will present the who, what, where, why and when of the largest TxDOT Design-Build Project in South Texas to date, as well as its challenges and opportunities.

About the Presenters

Glenn Barin, P.E., PMP, CCM, DBIA has more than 33 years of experience performing multiple roles with increasing responsibility on water and wastewater projects across the U.S. He has developed expertise in the past 18 years solely in planning and executing design-build project delivery of over one-billion dollars in capital improvement projects and has led projects and teams recognized nationally by DBIA and CMAA. He was the project manager for the Corona Del Mar WTP project that was a highlighted case study in the WDBC’s first edition of “The Municipal Water and Wastewater Design-Build Handbook.”

Aron Soto is a project engineer at MGC Contractor with over eight years of experience. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University – Kingsville with a degree in Civil Engineering
