Lt. General Russel L. Honoré
Louisiana native Lt. General Russel L. Honoré is well-known for, among other things, being the Commander of Joint Task Force Katrina & Global Preparedness Authority, coordinating military relief efforts for Hurricane Katrina-affected areas across the Gulf Coast. Drawing on his in-the-trenches experience managing conflicts of both natural and man-made variety, Lt. General Honoré’s take on leadership inspires audiences over diverse disciplines and backgrounds.
Founding Fathers Panel
In 1993, five A/E/C leaders met with a mission – expanding design-build. Even they couldn’t have predicted the industry to be where it is today. Design-build is no longer an “alternative” delivery method and the association they created is leading our industry to new heights. This distinguished panel including Kraig G. Kreikemeier, DBIA; Richard M. Kunnath, R-DBIA, P.E.; Donald G. Warren, DBIA; Jim Gray, R-DBIA; and Preston H. Haskell, R-DBIA, P.E. reunite to talk about their vision for design-build — then, now and into the future.
New Design-Build Research
Researchers from FMI Corporation describe their findings in new analysis of design-build market trend data which include a projection for distribution of spending, distribution of the market and much, much more! Researchers Keith Molenaar (University of Denver) and Brian Franz (University of Florida) will also discuss new design-build cost and schedule data.
The storm of technological change, from artificial intelligence to the “Internet of Things,” never stops. What can smart companies do to “future proof” their businesses against such disruption? Rich Karlgaard, publisher and futurist of Forbes magazine and author of two best-selling books on high-performance companies, has identified culture, teamwork and people as the “magic triangle” of sustainable competitive advantage in a fast-changing world. In this presentation, he will explain how great organizations put culture and teamwork at the core of their operating principles.
