Nearly 2,300 attendees from across the country gathered at DBIA’s Design-Build Conference & Expo in National Harbor, MD. Each fall, this event brings the design-build community together in one place to focus on a variety of topics that influence the AEC industry, learn best practices, explore available resources and leverage the growth of the design-build project delivery method.
A highlight from this year’s conference included a panel of leaders from five allied organizations discussing challenges and opportunities within the AEC industry and how they can work together.
The panel included industry representatives from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), American Institute of Architects (AIA), Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) and Construction Owners Association of America (COAA).
Several topics at the conference were spotlighted by writers from Construction Dive, including considerations for the use of virtual reality (VR), the growth of Progressive Design-Build (PDB) and the role of an integration manager on megaprojects.
