The U.S. economy added 177,000 jobs in April, while the unemployment rate stayed steady at 4.2%, which is overall better than economists expected.
The construction industry added jobs this past month, which showed a 1.7% available jobs increase for the industry.

DBIA is deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of Walker Lee Evey, a visionary leader and former #DBIA President and CEO from 2004 to 2009. Evey’s influence helped shape the trajectory of our organization and the broader #designbuild industry.
Evey stepped into the role at a pivotal time when design-build was not broadly accepted. His leadership and firsthand experience helped position the organization as the leading authority and advocate for design-build project delivery nationwide and grow its national acceptance.
