Ken Lee, DBIA, PE, PMP

Senior Project Manager, Sound Transit

Ken Lee’s 25 years of experience in project management and engineering design experience, coupled with his desire to share that knowledge with others fuels his desire to participate in being a mentor for DBIA.

As a Professional Engineer, Lee has design experience in Civil Engineering Construction projects including utility design, roadway, and transportation design. He strives to reach out and communicate with people that have various communication backgrounds and rally people together in order to work towards a common goal.

As a successful Project Manager leading large, complex, and sometimes controversial municipal projects, his responsibility is to ensure that projects are delivered on time, under budget, and to the client’s specifications. He is a resourceful manager who can maintain the “big picture” direction of a project while also successful in attending to the detail of a project.

Lee delivered design-build projects from all phases: from Planning (Contracts, procurement), Design (specifications, cost estimates, and prepare engineering), Bid (reviews, investigate qualifications, award), Construction (pay applications, request for information, Submittals, Field Design, Change Orders) to Closeout. His projects require working with many different city departments and outside agencies while directing numerous consultants and project team members all at one time.
