The 2024 National Design-Build Project/Team Awards competition is open and ready to accept your team’s application. Regardless of your team’s level of experience in design-build, project size, type or sector, DBIA is eager to learn about your successful projects!
The Design-Build Project/Team Awards Program honors the best of the best in design-build project delivery. Year after year, we gather to honor projects and teams that push the envelope and challenge the status quo, all for the sake of improving our industry and raising the bar as it relates to cost and schedule performance, quality, innovation, Owner satisfaction and triple-bottom line success.
Competition Awards and Categories
DBIA’s National Project/Team awards are given annually to projects that exemplify the principles of Design-Build Done Right®. The categories awarded include:
- Design-Build Merit Awards
- Design-Build Awards of Excellence
- Best In Awards
- Chair’s Award
- Project of the Year
Submissions are judged by DBIA’s Awards Jury, a panel of industry experts who evaluate each project for design-build process, excellence in design and teaming performance. Our awards jurors report that each year the bar gets raised on the definition of what it takes to be a standout project.
“We’ve seen this elevation of excellence, not just in the how the projects are submitted, but in the projects [themselves] and the project engagement and outcomes,” Awards Jury Chair Barbara Jackson, Ph.D., FDBIA, said. “That’s what’s been excelling year after year after year.”
Winning projects and teams will be honored during the Awards Celebration at DBIA’s 2024 Design-Build Conference & Expo, Thursday, Nov. 7, in Dallas, Texas.
Getting Started
Prior to starting your project submission, review our FAQs and Submission Guidelines document carefully. The FAQs answer common questions about the process and provide guidance on resources and documentation you will need to reference, suggest important people to engage in completing your submission, and provide an overview of the questions that will be asked when you enter the online portal.
As with Design-Build Done Right®, a good project/team submission requires collaboration. DBIA strongly suggests submitters invite collaborators to assist in completing the application. Whether you’re in the adjacent cubicle or on the other coast, you can work efficiently and effectively within the submission platform with various team members to help tell your project’s story.
Important Dates
Please note the following submission deadlines for the competition:
- Submission Deadline: May 31, 2024
- Extended Deadline*: June 7, 2024
*Applicants submitting for the extended deadline pay an additional fee.
