Design-build is changing the way America builds, and with that shift comes a need for leadership that looks a little different. Today’s collaborative project delivery environment demands more than technical expertise. It calls for leaders at every level who can navigate complexity, communicate clearly, build trust and drive innovation across integrated teams.
That’s where DBIA’s Collaborative Delivery Leadership Academy comes in, and now, it’s more flexible than ever.
DBIA has introduced three new ways to complete the Academy’s six leadership-focused courses, giving professionals more control over how and when they learn.
Choose Your Leadership Journey
The Academy is designed to meet you where you are, whether you’re ready for an immersive in-person experience or prefer to build skills virtually on your own timeline:
- Leadership Mastery Bootcamp: Complete all six courses in person over five consecutive days.
- Accelerated Leadership Bootcamp: Take three courses in person over three days; then finish the remaining three virtually.
- A la carte: Register for individual courses, either virtually or in person, based on your personal or professional goals.
Courses include Leadership, Communication, Teaming, Trust, Mindset and Culture, with each one targeting the critical competencies needed to thrive in collaborative delivery environments like design-build.
Built for Every Role on the Team
“This Academy is about building the leadership capacity needed to keep pace with the evolution of project delivery,” said Lisa Washington, CAE, DBIA Executive Director/CEO. “Understanding that leadership must happen at all levels because it impacts every aspect of the team’s performance and results, the Academy is appropriate for every member of the design-build team, regardless of their experience level, role or discipline.”
A Strong Complement to DBIA Certification
Whether you’ve obtained or are pursuing your Associate DBIA® or DBIA® certification or you’re simply looking to sharpen your leadership edge, the Academy offers a strong supplement to your professional development.
Participants have up to two years to complete all six courses, and graduates receive a verified digital badge to showcase their achievement on social media, resumes and email signatures. They’ll also be included in DBIA’s online Collaborative Delivery Leadership Academy Directory, making it easy for industry partners and employers to identify professionals with Design-Build Done Right® leadership expertise.
Organizations interested in training multiple team members can inquire about company-based training options by contacting DBIA at executive@dbia.org.
The Academy is offered in partnership with Barbara Jackson, LLC. Want a closer look?
