Last May, DBIA released a much-anticipated update to our Design-Build Done Right® Universal Best Practices. In just a couple of months, we will be in Cincinnati sharing with you the progress of more updates to our best practices, this time in the water/wastewater and transportation/aviation sectors.
This year’s Design-Build for Water/Wastewater and Transportation/Aviation conferences will visit the Queen City along the Ohio River from April 15–17 (Water/Wastewater) and April 17–19 (Transportation/Aviation). Each conference will feature a general session dedicated to developing new best practices for the corresponding sector, demonstrating DBIA’s commitment to design-build done right in two of the largest market sectors.
On Tuesday, April 16, at 8:00 a.m., join Water/Wastewater sector leaders for Diving Deep: Exploring DBIA’s Updated Market Sector Best Practices for Water/Wastewater. The significant growth of the water/wastewater sector in recent years necessitated an update to DBIA’s Best Practices for Owners and practitioners working in that arena. In an informative session dedicated to the process and goals of the update, attendees will learn about DBIA’s approach to updating the Water/Wastewater Best Practices and core updates with a focus on their impact. Seasoned design-build experts drew from their extensive experience in water/wastewater design-build projects and insights from diverse stakeholders to lead the development of the updated Best Practices to create a guide that is both grounded in the Universal Best Practices and tailored to the intricacies and unique requirements of water/wastewater projects.
The Transportation/Aviation sector has also seen extensive transformation in the past few years, prompting DBIA and experts in the sector to develop an update for the best practices in design-build projects that move the country. On the Road to Success: Unpacking DBIA’s Update to the Transportation and Aviation Market Sector Best Practices will highlight some of those updates and their role in shaping the future of infrastructure development. Mark your calendar for Friday, April 19, at 10:30 a.m. to hear from some of the professionals who have been instrumental in ensuring the Transportation/Aviation Best Practices update will balance DBIA’s Universal Best Practices with the specific needs of those working on roadways, railways, airports and other modes of transportation throughout the United States.
