Calling All Design-Build Teams — Owners Want You!

As negotiations continue in Washington on a historic $2 trillion, eight-year infrastructure and recovery package, Owners nationwide are preparing for the possibility of major infrastructure infusion. We know design-build will play a vital role in helping our nation recover in this post-COVID era.

“We saw in 2009 the huge role design-build played in delivering stimulus projects under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Given design-build’s tremendous growth over the decade-plus since then, we know qualified design-build teams will be in high demand if Congress passes a new infrastructure investment package. DBIA is committed to helping design-build teams prepare for that post-COVID economic recovery.” Lisa Washington, DBIA Executive Director/CEO

Important Events Ahead

DBIA is excited to support the Department of State’s Roadshow with the Bureaus of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) and Administration’s Office of the Procurement (OPE) on August 10th at 1:00 PM (EDT). This free webinar offers an opportunity for the industry to engage directly with the State Department as they continue their work to be a leader in government construction and contracting. The discussion touches on OBO’s portfolio, procurement process, partners, and goals. The efforts are focused on broadening and expanding the contractor pool, competition, and engagement while trying to understand how to be more responsive to the issues, concerns, and questions of industry. Two DBIA Conferences – Two Ways To Attend

The timing couldn’t be better for this year’s Federal Design-Build Symposium, August 25-26, and the Design-Build Conference & Expo, November 1-3. Both events will offer maximum convenience for attendees who can choose to attend in-person or virtually.

DBIA’s Federal Design-Build Symposium is the nation’s only design-build event for the federal marketplace. It will provide federal teams with the innovative tools, design-build best practices, and federal policy insights needed to build high-performance teams delivering better projects — on-time and on-budget. From understanding the FAR to cutting-edge design-build innovations, these sessions are designed to help federal design-build teams deliver on the promise of economic recovery. We’re updating our program regularly with impressive speakers, critical design-build resources, and important networking opportunities. We’re excited to finally be able to meet in person (in Crytal City Virginia – just outside DC) and we’ll also host a virtual event for those who can’t be here. Registration is open.

The 2021 Design-Build Conference & Expo is shaping up to be the biggest event for design-builders in years. Design-build teams can be sure to get the maximum Design-Build Done Right® benefit with 5 tracks of education, top-notch keynoters, experts in our expo hall, and 3 days of networking, When we look back at this time in our history, DBIA wants to say design-build has delivered on the promise to deliver the most innovative, collaborative, time and cost-efficient projects to our communities and has taken our industry to new heights.
