Celebrating DBIA Designated Design-Build Professionals: February 4, 2021

Every year, hundreds of people undertake the training and education necessary to become a Designated Design-Build Professional.®

 As the industry grows, so does the need for qualified professionals who practice Design-Build Done Right®. To kick off a new month, the Design-Build Institute of America would like to formally congratulate the following professionals on achieving their DBIA certification. Featured below are just a few of the many industry professionals that are becoming DBIA certified. Congratulations to all!

Ericka Anglin, PMP, Assoc. DBIA

Ericka Anglin is a Project Controls Manager at Kleinfelder in Sacramento, California. She has over a decade of client-facing experience in project controls including project cost controls and monitoring, critical path scheduling, contract, and legal administration, and procurement. Her expertise encompasses integrating cost forecasting tools to produce accurate and timely financial and contractual reports for clients.

Tim Baugus, DBIA, LEED AP

Tim Baugas

Tim Baugus is a Vice President for Pence Construction in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Tim has over three decades of successful experience in delivering high-quality construction projects in many different market sectors, and through many different construction delivery methods. His collaborative approach and his desire to build strong relationships with clients, design partners and trade partners alike have shaped his view of what a truly successful project means. Outside of work, Tim enjoys being with his family, camping, hiking, fly fishing, and doing projects around the house.

Crystal Chum, DBIA

Crystal Chum is an architectural designer with SmithGroup who has experience working on projects in Science and Technology, Higher Education, and Healthcare.  Her recent projects include the completion of a brand new 150,000sf neuroscience research lab, a 3000sf biotech research lab, and the design of a 310,000sf cancer hospital tower with a podium.

Dan Estes, DBIA, LEED AP BD+C

Dan Estes is the President & CEO of WEAVERCOOKE Construction located in Greensboro, NC. He is a licensed general contractor in multiple states and has been in the construction industry for 45 years serving in roles from project engineer, superintendent, project manager to President on projects ranging from nuclear power plants, hospitals, wastewater treatment plants to multifamily residential.

Ashar Mahmood, PE, DBIA

Ashar Mahmood is a Resident Engineer at WSP USA. Throughout his career, he has been an instrumental force in engineering several transportation-related projects in New York City and the surrounding metropolitan area. His most prominent work as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer for the $3.9B Tappan Zee Bridge Replacement project helped to create a new bridge over New York’s Hudson River in 2017.

Mohammad Mozaffarpour Noori, DBIA, PMP®, MSCE

Mohammad Mozaffarpour Noori is a Senior Preconstruction Manager at Clark Construction. Seven years ago, he moved to the US as an international student in search of a better life. He now holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters’s in Construction Management. Upon finishing his MSc. program, Clark hired him as an Entry Level Engineer and in time he was promoted to his current role. Recently, his main focus has been working on preconstruction efforts for the Cedars Sinai Marina del Rey Project and leading and supporting Clark Construction’s estimating teams on different Design-Build or CM-At-Risk pursuits. He lives in Irvine, CA, and enjoys listening to Podcasts, Audiobooks, watching TV Shows, and practicing guitar.

Manasi Pitkar, DBIA, LEED AP

Manasi Pitkar is a Pre-Construction professional with a collaborative approach to solving problems. She has 17+ years of experience in Construction with projects ranging from $5M to $500M+ in various market sectors such as Healthcare, Corporate Office, Advanced Tech, Higher Education, Public Sector, Entertainment, and Hospitality. Her work places a strong focus on Preconstruction, and she holds a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from Texas A&M University.

Greg Smith, PE, LEED AP BD+C

Gregory Smith is a Senior Project Manager in Timmons’ Groups Federal/Public Safety Sector in Richmond, VA. Greg has over 30 years of experience in the Civil Engineering profession, the last 15 years in Richmond, VA. Greg has led multi-discipline A/E teams for the design, scheduling, permitting, and construction of projects with values up to $167 million for public and private clients using both design-build and design-bid-build contracting methods. He is a proven leader in directing, managing, and coordinating personnel, budgets, workflow, and schedules for numerous projects in the Washington DC/Richmond/Norfolk corridor as well as many overseas locations.

Brooks Stingel, PE, DBIA

Brooks began his construction management career after graduating from The Ohio State University in 2005. His primary focus has been transportation, but he has had the opportunity to manage projects in vertical construction and the energy sector.  He currently works for The Beaver Excavating Company in Canton Ohio as a Senior Project Manager within the Structural Concrete Group.
