At Edwards and Kelcey (EK), a major U.S. engineering firm, Kevin McMahon as CEO led a transformation which saw EK grow significantly and increase profitability five-fold over an 11-year period. Jacobs acquired EK in 2007. From 2007 through 2013, he led the transformation for Jacobs to becoming one of the largest infrastructure firms in North America. He oversaw major projects including design-build for highways, rail, aviation, telecom, water and utility clients, with a staff of 3,000 employees. McMahon currently is a Consultant with the ACEC Research institute as well as an active Board member in the industry.
Emily Beardall, FMI Corporation
Emily Beardall develops creative analytical tools that deliver powerful solutions for FMI’s clients as a senior consultant. She is committed to utilizing these strategic tools to improve company performance and profitability. Beardall is responsible for FMI’s quarterly construction activity forecast for Canada and other thought leadership pieces. She’s an expert in the design-build space and a sought after speaker on this and other topics.
Keith Molenaar, Ph.D., FDBIA, University of Colorado at Boulder
Keith Molenaar is the Dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder. His teaching focuses on project delivery, construction engineering, cost engineering and project controls. His research focuses on alternative project delivery, cost and risk analysis for infrastructure projects. Molenaar has performed project delivery and risk-related work for the California, Colorado, Florida, Minnesota, Texas and Washington State Departments of Transportation. He holds Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering (1990) and Masters of Science (1995) and Doctoral (1997) degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado. Molenaar is an active member in DBIA and in 2018 he was inducted into the DBIA College of Fellows. He currently serves on the Design-Build Certification Board and has been recognized with the DBIA Academic Leadership Award (2000).
