DBIA Individual membership provides benefits to an Owner or practitioner of a government agency or private firm and students and faculty members at an institution of higher education.

There are several types of Individual Memberships:

  • OWNER: DUES $99
Owners decide what gets built, when it gets built and how it gets built. They are the organizations (or employees) that control the design and construction processes. Examples include real estate developers, private facility owners, academic institutions and government agencies. This does NOT include firms and/or people that provide design and construction services such as contractors, A/E firms, architects, etc.

Individuals performing design and/or construction services for Owners, such as consultant Owner Advisors, and are typically employed by AE/EA firms, general or specialty contractors, manufacturers/suppliers, etc.

Individuals who are 35 years of age or younger of any firm or institution type.

Individuals who study full-time (12 or more credit hours) at an accredited college or university. Students are encouraged to join or establish a local student chapter.

Individuals who work for a college or university. Faculty members are encouraged to establish a local student chapter.

Individuals who have retired from their profession who wish to continue their contact with the design-build industry.
