Carissa is a Certified Association Executive and nonprofit leader with a passion for helping mission-driven organizations thrive. With nearly a decade of experience in the association sector, she is known for building strong governance structures, strengthening regional operations and aligning local initiatives with broader organizational strategy. Carissa has worked closely with volunteer leaders and staff to advance impact, sustainability and long-term growth across more than a dozen tax-exempt organizations.
At DBIA, Carissa brings a collaborative, people-centered approach to regional engagement, supporting volunteer leaders and staff while aligning regional priorities with national strategy. She is the founder of a nonprofit consulting practice focused on strategic planning and board development and believes deeply in purpose-driven leadership. Carissa lives in Gig Harbor, Washington, with her husband and their two children.
