David Garner is a Project Executive at Flint, bringing over 25 years of experience in delivering high-quality, award-winning design-build projects in the education sector. His expertise spans the full project lifecycle—from early pursuit and design development through construction and warranty closeout guiding teams as an Integrated Project Leader. David has successfully led large-scale progressive design-build projects, stipulated sum design-build projects, and design-assist/design-build MEPF projects, showcasing his versatility in project delivery. His portfolio includes a diverse range of education and housing projects, encompassing performing arts theaters, multi-use stadiums, student housing, aquatics complexes, culinary arts centers, science labs, medical training facilities, classrooms, student unions, and career technical training centers. His ability to align stakeholder goals, foster collaboration, and drive efficiency has contributed to the success of numerous high-profile projects.

A graduate of California Polytechnic State University – San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in construction management, David is deeply committed to advancing the design-build industry. He has dedicated over 14 years to coaching teams in the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) competition, helping shape the next generation of design-build leaders. Additionally, he has been actively involved for over five years as a mentor in the Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) Design-Build Competition, where he has served on the steering committee. David’s leadership and passion for collaborative delivery, innovation, and education align with the DBIA’s core mission to drive best practices and promote design-build excellence. His hands-on experience and mentorship efforts continue to strengthen the industry’s future by equipping emerging professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary for success in integrated project delivery.
