Joana Berling is an experienced architect and certified general contractor with over a decade of experience in the field of design and construction of industrial structures. She is a current doctoral candidate at the University of Florida focused on community planning, which is why she serves passionately on the Downtown Development Review Board. Ms. Berling serves on multiple boards, including the quasi-judicial Downtown Development Review Board of Jacksonville Florida. She’s the founder of Peak Design Company, an architecture firm dedicated to the design of temperature sensitive structures. Ms. Berling is a University of Florida graduate with a master’s from the College of Design Construction and Planning. Born and raised in the Bahamas, she is one of six children. After graduating from UF, she settled in Jacksonville where she and her husband raise their three children.
