Challenge Design-Build Project Delivery Addressed
Challenges started from the inception of the project with the underground utilities that feed the existing facility. The entire airport’s hydronic piping (heating and chilled water), fire water and domestic water supply lines ran through the center of the project’s foundations. This challenge was met by relocating these systems into their planned location within the perimeter of the footprint of the facility, prior to the facility being built around them. This had to be performed with skillful precision to eliminate the impact this enabling effort would cause if not executed
successfully.
