With a time frame of 720 days, the design-build team created a phased package for the 145,000-square-foot project. This allowed the team to maintain the schedule while giving the Corps time to consider and approve later stage parts of the project. Schedule and budget fluctuations were kept to a minimum, allowing the Corps to revise the scope of the project while adding value as the project proceeded. The facility operates 24 hours a day and includes two Class 10,000 clean rooms, several labs and conference areas; some compliant to Director of Central Intelligence Directorate (DCID) 6/9 Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) standards. The project was awarded LEED Silver certification from the USGBC.
