Challenge Design-Build Project Delivery Addressed

To meet Kroger’s goals for speed-to-market, this project required an aggressive schedule that allowed design and construction activities to occur simultaneously. Processes for communication, collaboration and issue resolution had to be established immediately upon award to ensure a timely and accurate flow of information. Design-build was the only option.

Summary

When The Kroger Company was in a position to streamline its distribution channels in the southeast, they chose Primus to provide design-build services on one of the largest, most technologically advanced and sustainable distribution centers in its history. Primus’s fully integrated design, engineering, estimating and construction management team partnered with Kroger and local government officials to successfully deliver the 1,177,000-square-foot cold storage and distribution complex in Forest Park, Georgia.
