Challenge Design-Build Project Delivery Addressed
LAUSD’s chose to use design-build to mitigate a number of challenges, including: speed of delivery, cost control, quality and team integration. Ultimately they were looking to reduce comparable project costs, expedite the project’s completion and control project costs through integration, collaboration and innovative design and construction solutions.
The Jordan High School Project’s transformed the campus from a sea of asphalt, portables and wire-topped fencing into a point of pride for the students that enhanced learning and the community. Creating two learning academies ultimately improved the educational model on campus and increased graduation rates significantly. They achieved these goals by collaborating with District stakeholders, the community, students and staff creating an outstanding learning environment and a campus that focused on the community first.
