Built on the site of a long-time vacant lot in the city of Santee, the Sharp Santee Medical Office Building is an 86,000-square-foot medical office building that consolidates multiple medical specialties into one destination for the residents of the growing region of East County. Three floors of clinical spaces including urgent care and pharmacy on the first floor. This project centralizes many of the healthcare services that residents previously had to travel to multiple locations to receive, available in one facility. Services include urgent care, radiology, pharmacy, pediatrics, OB/GYN, family medicine, internal medicine, optometry, ophthalmology, dermatology, and physical therapy.

Design-Build Brings the Community Together

The development of the Sharp Santee Medical Office Building serves as a beacon for residents and visitors of the community. During the design and construction process, the design-build team provided a genuine focus on the overall sense of community. Whether it was hosting neighborhood-wide informational sessions on the purpose of the project or involvement with the local YMCA chapters to raise awareness about the new community services within the facility, the project team strived to make the new medical office building part of Santee. As the project progressed the team made it a point to not just temporarily descend upon the neighborhood during construction, but to become an integral part of it, and by all indications this center has had an immediate impact on the surrounding community.
