Challenge Design-Build Project Delivery Addressed
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Mid-Atlantic chose design-build for the Wallace Creek North BEQ Complex because they desired an integrated project team with a single point of responsibility. The success of the project is directly attributable to the teamwork demonstrated by all parties in utilizing a design-build approach to deliver a high-quality complex.
Summary
Under a design-build contract, Brasfield & Gorrie and RQ Construction overcame a historic amount of rain during construction and the challenge of working on an active Marine Corps base to complete this LEED Gold, best-in-class living environment for U.S. Marines. The success of the project is directly attributable to the teamwork demonstrated by all parties in utilizing a design-build approach to deliver a high quality complex.
