National
US coronavirus cases pass 200,000. More states are saying stay at home-CNN. On a day several more states, including Florida, told most of their residents to stay at home, the number of US coronavirus cases skyrocketed past 200,000 on Wednesday. As of Wednesday afternoon, more than 210,000 people in the United States have been infected, and at least 4,703 have died. The number of fatality reports again reached a new daily high, with more than 900 reported.
COVID-19 case tally: 941,949 cases globally, 47,522 deaths; US death toll tops 5,000-MarketWatch. The number of cases of COVID-19 around the world edged closer to 950,000 on Thursday while the U.S. death toll climbed above 5,000 according to aggregated data from Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering’s Centers for Systems Science and Engineering.

Florida
Florida coronavirus update for Wednesday: DeSantis announces stay-home order for entire state; cases near 7,800 with 101 deaths-Orlando Sentinel. As Florida COVID-19 cases roar past 7,700 with more than 100 deaths, Gov. Ron DeSantis is ordering Floridians to stay at home through April 30, a decision that came after weeks of facing pressure to lock down the state to fight the infections disease. Essential businesses, like grocery stores, can stay open.
Nevada
Nevada OSHA issues letter to construction companies regarding COVID-19 safety procedures-Fox 5 Vegas. With positive cases of COVID-19 popping up at various construction sites in Las Vegas, the Nevada Occupational Safety and Human Administration (NV OSHA) issued a letter to remind construction companies of social distancing protocols.
New Jersey
Coronavirus hasn’t stopped construction in N.J., though N.Y. has. That worries some.-New Jersey Local News. While major cities like Boston and New York City have temporarily banned all non-essential construction amid the coronavirus pandemic, New Jersey is still deeming the construction industry essential.
New Mexico
Albuquerque to ramp up road, building construction during COVID-19 outbreak-KRQE. As Albuquerque feels empty with business and school closures and a stay-at-home order, the city says there’s no better time to get started early on millions of dollars in construction projects. The city has a long list of both big and small road projects and building projects that are to get started weeks or months earlier than initially planned.
Pennsylvania
Coronavirus brings Pennsylvania’s construction industry to a near standstill-The Patriot-News. The sudden shutdown of the construction industry has led to layoffs across Pennsylvania. Some projects have been halted in the middle of construction and some future projects are being put on hold.

Skanska, Balfour Beatty, Jacobs Engineering freeze or cut executive pay-Construction Dive. Several publicly traded construction firms are taking the unusual step of freezing or even cutting executive pay and shareholder payouts, an unusual move during what had been a positive construction outlook for 2020.

COVID-19 creates havoc for construction industry-Lehigh Valley Business. The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting construction in the commercial and industrial sectors. The integrated supply chain of the construction industry creates production and supply problems if one company is shuttered and another is not, or if one state shuts down construction businesses and another does not.
