Celebrating DBIA’s Designated Design-Build Professionals – November 15, 2020

Every year, hundreds of people undertake the training and education necessary to become a Designated Design-Build Professional.™ As the industry grows, so does the need for qualified professionals who practice Design-Build Done Right®. Featured below are just a few of the many industry professionals that are becoming DBIA certified. Congratulations to all!

Bethany Shain, P.E., Assoc. DBIABethany Shain

Bethany Shain has over 15 years of experience in the field of civil engineering focused on Water Resources, working for AECOM for the past 9 years. She has a variety of areas of expertise including engineering project management, construction administration for various projects, site development, sanitary sewer evaluation studies, green infrastructure design, MS4 program development, and green infrastructure manual development. She is currently a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Kentucky.

Neil Mulrooney, DBIANeil Mulrooney

Neil Mulrooney serves as the Mid-South Heavy Civil / Tennessee Division Manager with Superior Construction. With over 20 years of experience in the heavy highway industry, he currently leads various sized projects, including design-build and traditional unit price, across the Midwest and Southeast business units. In representing a division, he implements effective project execution strategies, monitors current project portfolio performances and provides leadership to support project teams, and identifies potential business opportunities as the main sponsor of pursuits.

Jacqueline Reed, DBIAJacqueline Reed

Jacqueline Reed is a Senior Purchasing Manager at Clark Construction. She graduated from UC Irvine with a degree in Civil Engineering. For the first 6 years of her career, she was in the field running work with multiple crews to complete projects. Now she’s in a Senior Purchasing Manager position where she collaborates with multiple project teams and subcontractors. Her experiences in construction have only nurtured the original interest. She has worked on multiple design-build projects in her career, and stays busy with her involvement as an AGC Orange County Board & DBIA.

Chris Boyd, PE, DBIAChris Boyd

Chris Boyd is a born and raised North Carolinian, who has always had a passion for construction and design. During college, Chris interned at the NCDOT and then Crowder Construction and enjoy the Crowder environment and work tremendously, and has been with Crowder for the last 15 years. During that time Chris has acquired his PE License in both North and South Carolina, as well as went back to school at UNC-Charlotte and earned his Masters in Business Administration. In his free time, Chris enjoys smoking meats on his Traeger and spending time swimming and boating on Lake Norman.

Mark Dubay, PE, DBIAMark Dubay

Mark Dubay has more than 15 years of diverse experience with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) that ranges from project-level scoping to design, quality control, and delivery of projects. He currently works in the Innovative Contracting Unit, where he is responsible for overseeing contract procurements for projects that use alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, Construction Manager/General Contractor, Alternate Technical Concepts, and Public Private Partnerships. Mark is currently working as part of the team to deliver the I-75 Modernization (Segment 3) Public-Private Partnership (P3), which is one of the most significant P3’s undertaken in the state.

Bryan Veith, P.E., Assoc. DBIA, F.ASCEBryan Veith

Bryan Veith is President and Principal Consultant with Veith Engineering & Business Solutions. He’s a Florida professional engineer ASCE Fellow with over 26 years of providing innovative, quality, and responsive services to public and private clients for the planning, design, alternative project delivery, construction management, regulatory compliance, and business consulting for utility and public works projects.
