Are You Prepared for the Design-Build Opportunities Ahead?

DBIA’s April 12-14th  Design-Build for Water/Wastewater Conference is just days away, but it’s not too late to join us! This virtual event is targeted specifically for design-build in the water/wastewater sector with a robust three-day program of 28 sessions on 4 tracks. Design-build will play a critical role in our post-COVID recovery, and this conference will help prepare your teams to succeed.

We know your time is valuable, so we’ve created a jam-packed program to maximize your time and money. Nowhere else can you get so much design-build education and networking in the Water/Wastewater sector. Attendees can also access the entire conference for a month.

Track 1 – Essential Facts & Principles for Project Success

With sessions ranging from an overview of the distinguishing factors of best-value versus progressive design-build to understanding the current state of infrastructure pricing and supply chain management – this track will provide the essentials needed for design-build success.

Track 2 – Optimizing Design-Build

Design-build project delivery has a proven track record of outperforming traditional design-build-build and CM@Risk in cost and schedule performance. But did you know research has also shown design-build can also add significant value for the Owner and end-users, bringing innovative solutions and helping Owners reach social responsibility goals?  This track includes examples of just how far design-build can take your next project.

Track 3 – Collaboration “Done Right”

While a single-point of responsibility contract is the hallmark of design-build, the mental shift to a fully collaborative mindset is equally important. Maximizing success requires true collaboration in actions, not just words. This track provides numerous examples of what true Design-Build Done Right® collaboration looks like and the results it can deliver.

Track 4 – Show Me the Money (and the Contract)

They say only two things are certain in life – death and taxes. There are two other certainties in the AEC industry – the need for funding and the need for effective contracts. In an economy where public Owners are forced to tighten belts and work smarter, this track looks at various financing mechanisms, strategies to ensure contract terms in the best interest of the entire team, and supply chain nuances that may impact current and future construction costs.

Owners and Practitioners Forums

Even though we can’t be together in person, DBIA is committed to providing you valuable networking and targeted issue resolution time with your peers. Our Owners-Only and Practitioners-Only Forums are among our most popular events each year and offer you the chance to meet, share and learn with your peers. Issues this year include Single Point of Responsibility, Owner Advisors and Achieving Cost Success. Be a part of the solution to improve project outcomes by discussing these important topics together. Our closing session will include a robust discussion of Owners’ perspectives, compared to practitioners, to find ways the industry can help bridge the gap in understanding these core issues.
