National

Gridlocked Congress hears aid pleas after 17 million job losses-Bloomberg. Congress faces intense pressure to negotiate an interim rescue package this week as the impact of the coronavirus pandemic accelerates across the country.

The Coronavirus Economic Reopening Will Be Fragile, Partial and Slow-Wall Street Journal. From airlines to carmakers, companies are planning to gear up again for a future economic reopening. The new normal will look anything but.

States

These states have formed regional coalitions to fight coronavirus and reopen their economies-CNN. Several states in the Northeast, West Coast and the Upper Great Plains regions are forming regional coalitions as a way to work together and stimulate economies at the same time.

New York

New York expands prevailing wage laws to private construction projects-Construction Dive. The prevailing wage laws in New York have been expanded to include private projects of a certain cost and have received public subsidies of at least 30% of total construction costs, ​as part of the new 2021 Enacted Budget.

Florida

DeSantis deploys National Guard as Florida’s elder-care centers face COVID-19 ‘nightmare’-Tampa Bay Times. Gov. Ron DeSantis is enlisting the National Guard in the fight against the coronavirus. DeSantis is bolstering strike teams in an effort to bring testing to hundreds of elder care facilities. As of Monday, 93 facilities in Florida had at least one resident test positive.

Washington

Washington, Oregon, California join pact for COVID-19 collaboration-KOMO News. Governor of Washington Jay Inslee has joined his counterparts in Oregon and California in creating a “Western States Pact” that promises close collaboration in the continued fight against COVID-19.
