OKC/Tulsa Chapter Dinner – Design-Build & Public Private Partnerships: A National and Local Perspective

September 19, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm UTC-6

THIS SEMINAR IS PENDING APPROVAL FOR 1.0 HOUR CREDIT TOWARDS THE DBIA DESIGNATION PROGRAM

Oklahoma has expanded the use of integrated delivery methods including design-build and Public-Private Partnerships (P3s) to state and local government agencies. That’s good news for communities, taxpayers, builders and designers who can use these methods to maximize limited public funds to deliver the vital infrastructure projects citizens support. Public owners nationwide have found allowing innovation and collaboration to flourish on design-build projects has delivered projects with consistent cost and time savings, resulting in fewer changes, fewer claims and less litigation. More than 40% of the nation’s projects are delivered using design-build with widespread or full design-build authority provided in 42 states. It’s no wonder the use of design-build continues to increase nationwide, including in Oklahoma. This presentation will include an overview of the national trends and developments in the legislation and use of Design-Build & Public Private Partnerships with a special focus on the developments in Oklahoma and surrounding Southwest Region states.
